Afshan Tafler is a trauma informed, polyvagal informed holistic Life Coach and Conscious Parenting Coach who helps clients rewire their nervous systems and brain towards greater calm and resilience so they can transform their health and thrive in their relationship with their kids.

One of Afshan’s areas of focus is helping mothers of hypersensitive and neurodivergent kids to feel calm, confident, connected and find their joy again on their journey of parenting their kids with high needs.  She does this by helping mothers become aware of what's getting triggered inside of them in the face of their child's behaviors and heal that programming so that they can show up as the mother they want to be with their kids.  As a result, mothers are rewiring their nervous systems and brain towards greater calm, presence, emotional regulation and resilience to handle the challenges that come up with their children with more ease, and be able to experience joy again with their families and in their lives.

Afshan’s certificates and trainings include Certified Havening Practitioner, IFS Practitioner (Level 2), Certified EFT Practitioner, Certified Adler Trained Professional Coach, Certified Holistic Health Coach, Certified in Body Centered Coaching Method, Foundation of Polyvagal Informed Practice, Somatic Stress Release Practitioner (Level 2), Compassionate Inquiry Certificate, Biology of Trauma Certificates with Dr. Aimie Apigian (Energy, Overwhelm & Freeze; Inflammation & Autoimmune; Neurodevelopment and Attachment; Gut Health, Emotions & Trauma; Brain Health & Trauma).

Afshan has also done numerous trainings on childhood behaviors and how to work with them including Dr. Ross Greene's Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, Dr. Stuart Shanker's Self-Reg, Dr. Mona Delahooke's Beyond Behaviors work, Dr. Stanley Greenspan DIR/Floortime, Studio 3's Low Arousal Approach, Dr. Gordon Neufeld’s Attachment Model (Level 1 Intensive plus other trainings), PDA Autism Training, and more.

In addition, Afshan also coaches clients with chronic illness to heal underlying stress patterns contributing to their health challenges.  As someone who has experienced chronic health challenges, Afshan understands what others are going through.

Afshan is very passionate about understanding the root cause of challenges and focusing on healing those root causes from a mind, body and soul perspective.  She believes healing is about Self Realization and understanding that there is YOU (your true self) and YOUR PROGRAMMING, and YOU are NOT your programming.  At the core of who you are, you are whole, complete and already have the qualities you want to bring forth in your parenting journey and your chronic illness journey, but they are just clouded and covered up by the survival programming that has become activated.

Afshan came to Havening after having a very tough year with her PDA (demand avoidant) autistic son.  Havening helped Afshan to rewire her brain and nervous system from chronic stress and trauma brain to a more resilient brain that could feel safe, calm and connected again in the face of her child’s extreme stresses.  After experiencing the power of Havening in changing her own brain, Afshan has brought this modality to her clients with great success.

Afshan is also a sought-after wellness and parenting expert. She’s been featured on leading Parenting summits such as Mindful World Parenting, Great Parenting Show, Embodiment Conference, Raising Your Strong Willed Child, and more.  Afshan is a mom to a highly sensitive and strong willed neurodivergent child, and is passionate about healing intergenerational stress-inducing patterns and creating more peace in the world, starting with herself and her family.
